About the Event

"Meditation slowly, slowly turns into your enlightenment. You suddenly become aware one day, where is that darkness? where is that continuous rush of thoughts? where has the mind gone? Suddenly you are absolutely as hollow as a bamboo; but your hollowness is not empty – it is full of joy and full of rejoicing. You will dance for no reason at all, you will sing for no reason at all, songs that you have not composed, dances that you have not learned. They are just bubbling spontaneously in your consciousness. That is enlightenment, but don't make it a goal. Meditation is enough. Everything else follows on its own." ~ OSHO~ The Great Pilgrimage : From Here to Here

We are fortunate to celebrate Osho's Enlightenment Day this time with his own brother Swami Shailendra Saraswati and his sister- in law Ma Priya. Grace us with your presence and make this lively event a memorable one!  Swami Shailendra Saraswati was born in June 1955 in Gadarwara (MP), India as younger brother of Osho. He joined Osho’s Neo-Sannyas movement in 1971. He joined a Mandali in Gujarat where he distributed Osho's handbills to the public until Osho asked to discontinue the feature of Kirtan Mandali. In 1978, following Osho's suggestions, Swami Shailendra studied Bachelor of Science in Medicine from Jabalpur University.

He lived in the Osho Commune in Pune from 1978 - 1981, after which he went to Rajneeshpuram, Oregon, USA and lived with Osho till 1985. When he returned to India, Swami Shailendra Saraswati served in the Orient Paper Mills at Amalai (MP) as Chief Medical Officer from 1986 - 1999. In August 1989 till September 1990 Swami Shailendra Saraswati went to the Osho Commune and stayed there during the last days of Osho leaving his body.  May 1998, after experiencing glimpses of eternal truth, Swami Shailendra Saraswati started sharing with others through meditation camps and stress management workshops. For the first time he started giving public discourses, answering questions from the public and interviews to press media.

Ma Amrit Priya was born on May 1958 in India into a spiritual family. She joined Osho's Neo-Sannyas movement in 1973 at the young age of 15. In 1979 she did her M.A. in Philosophy and Prabhakar Degree in Music and in that same year she married Shailendra, a younger brother of Osho. She lived in the Osho Communes in Pune from 1979-81.  In 1982 Ma Amrit Priya moved to Rajneeshpuram, Oregon, U.S.A and lived there with Osho till 1985. Ma Priya returned to India, along with Swami Shailendra Saraswati, in 1985 where she taught music at the OPM School in Amlai (MP), India.  They lived there for 12 years, enjoying a very happy married life devoted to spiritual pursuits. The path of meditation, shared by Osho, remained the foremost precedence for both of them. In August 1989 she went to Osho Commune, Pune and lived there until September 1990.

Ma Amrit Priya is an accomplished singer and composer; more than 60 of her Bhajan albums have become popular among seekers of all traditions. She was privileged to sing in the presence of Osho. Her TV discourses regarding Osho's vision are compiled as books.  Together they conduct Meditation programs, sharing Osho's teachings and igniting loving awareness around the world.
